Beautiful solar lighting is a huge trend in garden design. With its environmental and aesthetic benefits, it brings beauty, charm and a warm ambience to any space without the complication (or expense) of wiring. And I've just found a design I'm so excited about I almost want to keep it to myself. It's a solar lotus light and it is gorgeous.
There’s something wonderfully serene about a lotus flower glowing after dark, and this particular lotus solar light, which is currently 33% off in the Amazon sale brings that feeling to the garden without looking overly decorative.
With its metal lotus shape and softly glowing glass centre, it feels more like a piece of garden décor – the sort of solar lighting detail that can make a patio or terrace feel instantly more considered. And at less than $20 each, I am ready to add more than one of these to my basket.

This solar light is amazingly versatile, plus the lotus flower is traditionally associated with qualities including purity, renewal, serenity, and awakening, giving this little light a sense of meaning as well as beauty, which I love.
If I were styling this, I would use several lotus lights to gently define the edge of a patio or deck, creating a soft border between your seating area and the rest of the garden. Rather than spacing them evenly, you could try to position them at slightly varied intervals for a more natural, relaxed look.
You could also turn an ordinary garden path into something much more atmospheric after sunset. Place them along either side of a pathway to gently guide the way. They’d look especially beautiful tucked among low planting or fall grasses, where the light can appear to emerge from the foliage.
Another idea I'd consider is adding one to a fall porch to add ambient light after dark. I'd also think about adding atmosphere to a dining table, to add a cozy element to outdoor fall drinks.

The lotus is naturally associated with water, making this another fitting place to style the light. Position one or several around the edge of a pond, fountain or even a simple water bowl, allowing the lotus shape to echo the setting. Even if you have a balcony or small terrace, this lotus solar light is an easy way to bring a little more atmosphere to the space without taking up much room.

Shoppers love how pretty the lotus shape of this light is, and crackle-glass globe. The cracked glass gives the warm LED glow a subtle ripple effect, which can cast an attractive pattern onto nearby surfaces.
'These lights are not just beautiful, they’re convenient and durable,' says one review. 'I’ve had mine for a couple of years and even though I have changed a couple of them over time, they’re great. They have endured a foot of snow, heavy rains, high temperature heat, heavy winds and they still work.'
Another buyer said: 'It is easy to place because no electrical wiring or outdoor extension cord is required. After receiving direct sunlight, it turns on automatically and makes a charming accent near a patio or walkway.'
However, several reviews point out that the leaves on the light can become rusty if left out in the rain. So although they are durable, it is worth thinking about moving them to somewhere more sheltered during wintertime or periods of bad weather.
