Layered, imaginative, and endlessly inviting – those are the feelings that Swedish-born and London-based designer Beata Heuman brings to everything she creates. Her distinct design language – defined by rich color pairings, bold yet balanced patterns, folk references, and endless amounts of character – is widely admired, and it results in interiors that are as comfortable as they are considered.
Designers Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe of American firm Nickey Kehoe speak the same design language as Beata, which is why the newly announced partnership between the two couldn’t feel more natural. Now, Beata’s complete fabric and wallpaper collections, as well as a selection of lighting and bedding, will be available at Nickey Kehoe’s New York and Los Angeles showrooms and online.
Although Beata is no stranger to an American audience – it’s the largest market for her design shop, Shoppa – this collaboration gives her a physical presence within the United States, and it strengthens the reach of her British design sensibilities within the American landscape.

With their shared appreciation for craftsmanship, history, and well-made homewares, Beata Heuman and Nickey Kehoe’s partnership is a natural extension of both brands’ worlds. And it’s one that developed rather organically, too.
‘Our relationship with Beata developed naturally over a number of years and encounters,’ Amy and Todd tell . ‘Beata had been looking for the right way to establish a physical presence in the U.S., and for us, there was something very special about being able to provide that introduction through our shops. It felt like the natural next chapter of a relationship that had been building for some time.’
Even for Beata, it was only right that the first showroom to represent her work would be Nickey Kehoe. ‘Amy and Todd have achieved the elusive feat of having a shop that goes way beyond selling wares. You cross the threshold to an inspiring little world full of personality where each item has meaning. I really couldn’t think of a better home away from home for my collection,’ she says.

This partnership comes at an exciting moment too, as interior trends take a turn towards spaces that feel more expressive, unique, and imaginative – qualities that have long been characteristic of Beata’s work. Though informed by a distinctly British point of view, her signature style strongly resonates with an American audience for its personal, layered, and traditionally rooted aesthetic.

Plus, Beata's work has a way of bringing fun back into design. ‘There’s a freedom and irreverence to Beata’s work that feels especially refreshing right now,’ Amy and Todd remark. ‘She has an incredible ability to combine color, pattern, and traditional references in ways that are sophisticated but still whimsical and slightly unexpected. Nothing feels overly coordinated or too perfect.’
This sense of freedom, fearlessness, and refreshing fun comes through in Beata’s collection at Nickey Kehoe – in the whimsy of her Marbleized Wallpaper, the dreaminess of her Asteria's Folly fabric, and even the old-world-inspired elegance of her Willow print. It's like an invitation to let your design instincts run free, to choose what speaks to your taste, and to design a home that really feels like you.

Beata makes decorating with color look easy, and her ability to mix and layer patterns seems like second nature. Her collection of textiles and homewares encourages the same expressive spirit, and Beata has advice on how to make this style truly work.
‘If you limit your color palette and stay predominantly light when it comes to walls and woodwork, I think that’s the simplest way to create a cohesive and flexible backdrop that you can then layer with colour, texture and pattern in other places,’ she explains.
This approach is the key to developing interiors that feel inspiring and intriguing but never overwhelming. ‘A fabric or wallpaper pattern is probably the simplest way to achieve this by introducing an element of the unexpected, a detail that breaks convention, adds a hint of edge or tension, or stimulates the imagination in some way,’ Beata suggests. Her collection at Nickey Kehoe has no shortage of either.

Beata Heuman’s signature style is all about personality. And finding that personality – through mixing patterns, playing with color, or pairing antique elements with modern touches – is what makes a home come to life.
At Nickey Kehoe, Beata’s collection brings a distinct point of view to the brand while speaking to Amy and Todd’s appreciation for things that feel authentic. ‘Beata’s fabrics and wallpapers can sit alongside a Nickey Kehoe piece, an antique, or something completely unexpected and create a conversation between them,’ Amy and Todd remark. ‘That ability to mix, rather than prescribe, is very much how we approach our own assortment, and Beata adds an entirely new voice to it.’
For Beata, Amy, and Todd, the best homes are the ones that feel collected – not predetermined. Consider this partnership your sign to transform your home into a richly layered, fearless, and fun extension of your own personal style. Shop the best of Beata’s collection at Nickey Kehoe below.
